Guess what I just found out.

Remember how Baby Girl is due August 8?

Keep that in mind.

With that in mind, see what you think about this:

My Pre-K student teaching is during the second summer term at ASU (this is the only time it's offered). This is from July 5 to August 5.

And may I quote: "This is a full-time field experience, so you need to plan accordingly."

{It might be a little late for that.}

Also, since I'll be done with school, the student health insurance that I'm on will go bye-bye on August 15 (happy birthday to me).

In summary:

No early baby. No late baby. 10 day window, baby.

Thank you, that is all.

Cali/Disneyland

We headed off for California Sunday night. We hung out on Monday, and hit up Disneyland on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I lo-lo-lo-lo-ve Disneyland. You know this.

I even loved Disneyland while pregnant (and therefore unable to go on the "big" rides). That is true love.

It was pretty darn busy, since it was AZ's spring break and all, but we still had a great time!

-Yes, I got Madelyn one of those "backpack leash" things. The girl would usually rather walk than be carried or pushed in her stroller. Crazy? Yes. True? Also yes.

-We finally saw World of Color. It = AMAZING.

-Maddy loves Coke/soda in general. She's totally my daughter.

-She also loves the Carousel and "It's a Small World." By the end of Small World she was waving at everything. She also quacked at anything that remotely resembled a duck.

-Maddy also helped Grandma kick everyone's trash in the interactive games (Buzz Lightyear and Toy Story Mania). Seriously - they did so good.

The best kind of egg

I don't really like eggs.

I mean, I sort of do. I like them if they're scrambled, and they've got things mixed in (like, at least cheese) and I can put ketchup on them. That's all right.

But my favorite kind of egg? This kind:

Am I right, or am I right? {I'll give you a hint: I'm right.}

But I've got to take this one step further, because you see, there are a few different variations on the joy that is the Reese's egg, and I have a fairly strong opinion about which one is best.

Basically, Reese's eggs are available in the following varieties:

small: eggs are individually wrapped in Easter-y colored foil wrappers, sold in a bag

medium: eggs are individually wrapped in the yellow wrapper shown in the picture with me above, also sold in a bag

large: Very much like the medium eggs, but, well, larger. They have a yellow wrapper and are held in a white cardboard "shell" inside the wrapper. They are sold either individually or in packs of 6.

Personally - and I've put a lot of thought into this - I like the medium eggs.

The small ones are sometimes kind of hard to unwrap, and I think they're often a little light on the peanut butter. Or at least you can't really taste the peanut butter. Or maybe they just have a different taste. Dunno for sure.

And the large ones...well, as hard as it may be to believe, I think they are TOO big. I feel like I get to the middle and it's all peanut butter, which is no bueno.

But in the medium ones, the chocolate to peanut butter ratio is just right. For the whole thing. And I loves it.

I guess this whole post was written for the purpose of confessing to you that I have eaten way more medium Reese's eggs than is healthy. Way more.

Are you a Reese's egg fan?

Read this if you want to know what brand of baby we're having.

Have you all been on pins and needles?

Is the suspense killing you?

Are there any other cliches about waiting that I can write while I stall?

No?

Well, okay then.

I am pleased to announce that our wonderful new addition, who is still set to arrive August 8, and who will undoubtedly bring an insane amount of joy to not only our little family but to the entire world...

is...

a...

Yep, my instincts were wrong. And I don't mind a bit.

And yes, the technician was extremely confident. She said it wasn't just the absence of boy parts, but the obvious presence of girl parts. Even I could tell from the picture. thankyouverymuch.

So there you have it. In 5 short months there will be another little Harris princess.

Can you wait? Because I can't.

Getting over my trust issues.

It's hard to trust ultrasounds when they once told you that your little girl was a little boy.

{Remember when that happened?}

But in the name of getting over my trust issues, we are, once again, going to put a little faith in an ultrasound in an effort to discover the gender of Baby Dos.

And that ultrasound is happening this coming Monday, March 7. I'm stoked.

Dallin and I both initially thought boy. Pretty strongly, actually. That's just what seemed like it would "fit" better in our family, or something. It just...made sense. Does that make sense?

BUT, we had an ultrasound at our last appointment, when I was about 14 weeks. The lady (yes, different lady than last time...we switched doctors when we moved) said she could make an "educated guess," and that guess - that early guess, mind you - was girl.

So now, I dunno. Dallin and I both initially thought Maddy was a girl, so maybe we're intuitive about this sort of thing. But maybe not. I guess we have a 50% chance of being right.

Can I let you in on a secret, though? I would love for this baby to be a girl. I think it would be great to have two girls so close in age. Plus, I already have lots of girl clothes. Probably too many girl clothes...

Anyway, I'll be happy with a little guy too, of course. For now...I just want to know!

There's a poll up in the corner so you can submit your guess, so have at it!
